I’m now taking commissions for two-hour bust sketches of characters like the ones below: $20
For reference, the one on the left was for a client; the one on the right was personal. Anyway, it seems like something that can help out those of you who have characters or character ideas you’d like to see fleshed out, but don’t really have the money for a big commission. I take only Paypal for peace of mind, sorry!
E-mail me at silkspinner@complexactions.com if interested.
Current List:
- Sam Russel (complete!)
- TalenWolf (complete!)
- Henchwench (awaiting info from client)
- JustDowntime (awaiting info from client)
- Quill (complete!)
I’m taking commissions for more elaborate pieces like my Slaver picture as well. These are priced based on the sketch we agree on for your piece, from which I’ll estimate painting time and set the price at $10/estimated hour. (My hour estimations almost always favor the client, with me taking longer than intended and not charging for it. Damn it.)
Any money made, for what it’s worth, will be going right back into art. For one, Tal and I are seriously considering attending Comicpalooza in Houston from March 26-28. It’s a very exciting prospect and we think we’re about ready for a local con like this. However, it is very, very expensive to build our inventory and rent the table. We’ll see what we can scrape together.
Secondly, after three years of hard use, my tablet is beginning to show a few signs of instability. It’s not my time to spring for a Cintiq yet (someday…oh, someday), but I do want to have the cash set aside to immediately replace my Intuos.
And finally, we’re looking for Comicpalooza Award Nominations! We’re only aware of these awards due to a few nominations from our lovely readers in the “Best New Webcomic” category. Now, I am in no way claiming to be better than many of the hyper-talented comic artists continually boggling my mind with their mad skills, but I do know that any sort of recognition like this is very helpful to making this a sustainable method of making a living.
So please, if anyone thinks that Complex Actions is worthy of your support, please take a couple of minutes to nominate us in this category. We need (I think) ten more nods to make it to the voting stage. Thanks for the consideration!

So… Comicpalooza is a “local” show… that means that not only are you guys on the same server as me, but also in the same general region? AWESOME! Please, please, try to get a booth at Comicpalooza, and let us know ASAP! I will beg, borrow, and steal funds to attend!
